# Go to the source for the question you have

Use state pages to check who may practise. Use federal, or US-wide, pages to check a medicine or compounding claim. Keep your exact question beside the source.

The state rules and medicine-law information here were checked on September 26, 2026.

## Keep the date beside the rule

Statute

A law passed by a legislature. A board’s policy is a different kind of document.

Board policies explain how a board views care. They are guidance, rather than laws passed by the state.

A docket check on November 3, 2026 confirmed adoption on October 1, 2026. The changes await their scheduled start, November 30, 2026.

For the rules in force at your visit, ask the relevant board. For a decision about your own treatment, take the question to your clinician.

### Who may practise

As of September 26, 2026, Colorado’s shared search includes licence records for doctors, nurses, pharmacists and pharmacies.

It helps check a name. It does not rank clinicians or guarantee care quality.

### Remote care across state lines

As of September 26, 2026, health professionals licensed in other states can register to give online care in Colorado if they meet the state’s rules.

Holding only this registration gives no permission for an office or for in-person treatment in Colorado. It also does not allow controlled-drug prescriptions.

Ask the board to confirm a claimed online-care registration. This guide has not confirmed an actual person’s registration in the state search.

If you cannot find the registration, ask the board to check it before relying on the claim.

### What Colorado compounding permission means

As of September 26, 2026, the Colorado act requires both state and federal rules to be followed.

It does not settle whether a particular ingredient may be compounded.

### What the FDA has reviewed

The US agency reviewing medicines goes by FDA, meaning Food and Drug Administration.

Compounded drugs lack approval from the FDA as of September 26, 2026.

Registration does not mean approval either.

Use the agency’s explanation to separate those claims.

### Medicare payment questions

As of September 26, 2026, Medicare’s temporary Bridge has rules about who can join and which products it covers.

Read both before assuming it covers your prescription.

### A problem with care or a medicine

Colorado takes complaints about licensed care. Patients can also report medicine concerns to the FDA.

The licensing board cannot award money or settle fees.
