Use the official name search
As of September 26, 2026, Colorado’s public search includes licence records for doctors, nurses, pharmacists and pharmacies.
The state advises starting with the person’s first and last name.
Match the spelling and profession to what you were given. Check the actual record; a website badge is not enough.
If no clear match appears, ask the board to help confirm the person’s licence. Ask the board to check a claimed online-care registration too.

Pick the board for the person’s role
Doctors and physician assistants receive licences from the Colorado Medical Board as of September 26, 2026.
Physician assistants provide care under a written agreement with a doctor.
Nurses come under the State Board of Nursing; this includes nurse practitioners. Nurse practitioners have more training in assessing and treating patients.
The State Board of Pharmacy handles pharmacists and pharmacies.
These boards sit within Colorado’s Department of Regulatory Agencies, often called DORA.

Check the pharmacy as well as the clinician
As of September 26, 2026, a pharmacy outside Colorado needs state registration before sending prescription medicines into Colorado.
The state search includes licence records for pharmacists and pharmacies.
Ask which business actually prepares and sends the medicine. The US medicine agency, the Food and Drug Administration, points out that a patient receiving care online may be unsure who made the medicine.
A public licence record with no problems listed cannot show the quality of someone’s care.
